Mini Soccer Season Information

RA Steen CC Soccer Beliefs – In order for all to have fun and be engaged in playing soccer, we will encourage players to:

  • Play respectfully – Listen/ watch actively, encourage/include others, use sportsmanship

  • Play safely – No dangerous, aggressive or rough play, no lying on field

  • Do our best – Strong effort, take risks, overcome challenges

  •

Team Communication – Coaches will contact parents on their teams before or during Week 1 to begin to coordinate snack etc.

To Wear/Bring to Soccer:

  • Water bottle labelled with name

  • Jersey, soccer cleats, shorts, shin pads and soccer socks

  • Your soccer ball labelled with name (unless coach has all balls for team)

Early Arrival – Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early

Absence – If your child will be absent, contact coach so they can plan accordingly

Adverse Weather Cancellation Policy – We will follow the lead of the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) in cancelling soccer due to adverse weather.  For up-to-date weather or cancellation information, visit the WYSA website.

If soccer is cancelled due to adverse weather (lightning, smoke, heavy rain), an email will be sent from the RASCC mini soccer age group coordinator at least one hour prior to our start time.  If there is no email, soccer is on. Due to the limited length of the season, soccer will proceed in cooler weather and light rain.  Please refrain from sending emails or calling the community center to ask if soccer is cancelled.
